Day 2 on Cardigan

October Second 2017

On day two I woke up to the sound of phone alarms going off below me. I was the first one of my bunk up so I woke them up and then stood in the corner to get dressed, while they did the same in other corners. I had to go down early to set up for breakfast and sat with all of them at breakfast when we had french toast. After we made lunch we went outside to discuss with our groups the routes we were going to take up the mountain. About an hour into the hike we reached the boreal zone, which is an example of a region. We stopped to sketch and our instructor had us look for hemlock trees. We got up a little higher above some of the trees and stopped to have lunch. This was the north forest zone, according to our instructor, which is an example of a region.

Fast forward to the top of Firescrew, we were all exhausted and stopped to take a break. The top of Firescrew could be an example of a region because there are no trees except for Krumholtz. When we got to cardigan it was really rocky and there wasn't much other stuff. All of these rocks could be an example of a region.
