Cea A. Cardigan Day 3 10/29/17
There were lots of experiences we had at Mount Cardigan day three that involved us interacting with our environment. First, we went to a nearby stream to study it. We searched the stream for creatures, and hiked around a lot. We adapted to our environment because we had to use waterproof hiking boots in case we fell into the water. We found a large mudpuppy, a large sum of small salamanders, a dobson fly, a dragonfly larvae, and a lot of other small insects. We used a dichotomous key to decipher what kind of insect our findings were.
After this, we played a long game of camouflage, where we hid in the woods and had to be the closest hider to the seeker not in sight to win. We had to adapt to the environment by taking off our brightly colored raincoats so that the seeker couldn't see us. We used our environment (the trees) to hide behind. I hid in a ditch and won the whole game. We also interacted with our environment by drawing pictures of its salamanders, trees, and leaves, plus taking waypoints with our GPS. In conclusion, we interacted with our environment a lot on day three at Cardigan.
