Things I saw on Day 2 On day two our group did a lot of hiking. First we hiked up Mt. Fire Screw it was an amazing hike all along the way we saw fascinating plants and animals and sketched them. Josh our AMC guide was really good about doing sketches he did not make us sketch too much but we still got a lot of sketches in our sketchbooks. More than once we thought we made it to the sumate of Fire Screw. When we got to the top of Fire Screw we had an amazing view of all the other mountains so naturally it was the perfect place to sit down and have lunch.
After lunch we moved on to hike the saddle between Fire Screw and Mt. Cardigan. The mountain top was mostly rocky surface but there was a few parts of forest further down. At the top of the mountain there was a fire tower. We learned that there were fire towers placed all along mountain tops so that when a forest fire broke out people could find out exactly where it was. we stayed at the top of cardigan for a long time, i later descoverd that we were the first group to hike up the mountain. after we hiked to the mountain Rim rock.
along the way to rim rock an old married couple walked up to our AMC guide and asked what would be the easist way down the mountain to a parking lot. he pointed to a sign with a name that i cant remember, they said thanks and moved along twords the trail. On the way to the peek Of Rimrock we stoped to sketch a few times. We were the only group that hiked all five mountains.
