The Voyage of Discovery Beings

The three ships set sail from palos, and head for the Canary Islands Columbus leaves thecanary island behind slow going in the sargasso sea, then fresh winds, and - at last - land

Three Vocabulary Words:

1.embarks- going board a shipaircraft, or other vehacle

2.bejarano- habitational name, an adjectival derivative

3.recreations- activity done for enjoyment when one is not working

Summary: Columbus' voyage began on friday, Augst 3,1492. He sailed between the mouth of the river and the ocean. In the fifteenth century the portugese invented a new model of ship called the caravel. What happened is that Christopher Columbus and his team sailed for months to find land but they go unbelievably slow but they still move along slowly but moving.
