Physical aspects of Mount Cardigan are the trees, the rocks, and the waterways. As you go up Mount Cardigan there are less and less variation in the types of trees. At the top of the mountain there is only one kind of tree. At Wellton Falls there were no man-made areas but there was some rock placements that were moved by the AMC trail managers. Another physical aspect of the trip was the wildlife, there were either wolf or coyote tracks (not quite sure what kind of animal it was) that our group found in the mud at the top of Mount Firescrew.
Cultural aspects of Mount Cardigan include the AMC Cardigan Lodge. The lodge was built for hikers to stay while enjoying Mount Cardigan. Another example are the markers along the trail that were placed to help people interact with their environment by hiking up the mountain. Along with hiking trails there are also man-made skiing trails. ( So, I would like to go skiing there!! )
We were there for three days, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. We arrived on Sunday. Monday we hiked the whole day, and Tuesday we headed back.
