1. PENINSULA: An area of land that is completely surrounded by water, except for one part that connects it to the mainland.

2. MAINLAND: The dominating land in size, indicated by islands or peninsulas.

3. PHYSIOGRAPHIC: The science of physical geography.




Who: Most of the population in the West Indies orriginated from African slaves.

What: The West Indies are the islands south of the Gulf of Mexico.

When: The West Indies have been there since before Columbus discovered them in 1492.

Where: The West Indies are located in the western Atlantic ocean near Central America.

Why: Blue Mountains were submurged by the ocean because of the ocean.
