Summary

On Friday August third, 1492, Colombus sailed down the Tinto river into the Atlantic ocean. His three boats, the Nina, the Pinta, and the Santamaria traveled south by southwest to the islands of the Canaries to get supplies for the long journey over sea. On the way to the Canary islands, the Pinta damaged its rudder, but made it to the Canaries. On September 9, at 3 in the afternoon, after reparing the rudder, changing the sails, and resupplying with food and water, the 3 boats left the islands to find Asia.
