Homer was a well known storyteller. He was the original creator of the Iliad and the Odyssey, however, he was not the one to write them down. He would speak the tales to people and later they wrote them down. He is believed to be blind but no one can know for sure. No one knows when he exactly lived and died, but he was alive around 750 B.C.

Homer firmly believed that the Earth was flat. This was what most people thought at this time. In Homer's books he describes a flat earth. He also describes the Pillars Of Hercules, Which is really the Gibraltar strait. Homer in one of the first poets in western culture that works have survived and are still being published today.

The Earth is really a sphere.
