Place of Cardigan Mountain

Cardigan is a large mountain with a 3,121-foot treeless granite summit. There's multiple different regions that give beautiful views of the foliage below. There are multiple different trees, whether it's birch, spruce, or hemlock, and several different species of plants species along the mountain. Mt. Cardigan also holds the record for the tallest white ash tree in New Hampshire. The bark of this tree is lined with a pattern that looks similar to x's. The summit of Cardigan is made of granite rock that is at a very steep slant. As well as trees, there were also multiple more different plants some being wild cucumbers, rattlesnake plantain, ect. On the way we were also able to find different fungi, like mushrooms, One of these being lion's mane, a whitish beige colored mushroom similar looking to cauliflower. Near the mountain there was also a pond that consisted of multiple different organisms, the most memorable being the salamanders and frogs.
