Our trip to Odiorne was a very exciting very interactive feild trip. We spent most of our time in the water shearching through tide pools and hunting for creatures.

The black zone also known as the splash zone is made up of rocks that are covered with a substance called cyanobacteria. The black zone is the furthest zone from the water therefore, there is no seaweed living in between the rocks. Although there aren't many creatures living in the black zone, barnacles thrive there because of the frequent splashes they get showered with.

The white zone is also made up of rocks but only some of them are covered with cyanobacteria. Althought the White Zone doesn't go by a different name it is still splashed by the water from the ocean below.

WHERE is the most variety, and WHY do you think this is?

I think that the red zone has the most variety beacuse that is where you can find most of the seaweed. There are so many different kinds of seaweed and other plants that the read zone has the most vareity.
