My Second Day at Cardigan

On day two of the Cardigan field trip my group hiked mount Cardigan. In the morning I woke up at 7:30, got dressed into my day clothes, and brushed my teeth. Then we all gathered for breakfast at 8:00. After we ate our french toast, we changed into our hiking gear and gathered for another meeting with our instructors. We talked about what our plan was for the day. When we agreed on a route, we gathered our things and headed on our way to Mount Cardigan. The hike started off with an easy incline, but slowly it built up. Along the way we crossed a bridge, and took many and sketches. We made sure not to miss any waypoints that needed to be recorded. It was a long hike, but we finally arrived at the summit. We met up with the other groups, and afterwards, we ate lunch. Before we made our way back down, we completed a sound map, and sketched the view. When we all agreed it was time to leave we went back down a different way we came up. Our instructor showed us a small cabin, and talked about the current surroundings. Following that, we made another sketch and left. Eventually, we found our way back, and once again, had a meeting in our groups meeting area. We talked about how many miles we hiked, what went well, what we learned, and what we wanted to leave behind. At last we could enjoy our free time. I showered and read waiting for dinner time. Many of the other kids spent their time down in the living room area playing games. After dinner was served we ate, and hung out. When it got dark, we went outside for a night activity. All of us were put into groups and we had to improv a scene that we made up. Later, Mr. Woolner read us another story and sent us off to rest.

Regions are a theme of geography. Regions are areas (usually a border) defined by some common characteristics. An example of a region is the Hemlock region at Cardigan. It is an example of a region because its an area of just hemlock trees on the mountain. Some more examples are, Houston fields in Hopkinton NH, the Contookook region, the Spruce region at Cardigan, and the Cucumber region at Cardigan.
