On day three of the Cardigan field trip my group did the nature trail and the compass course. The day started off at 7;30 when I woke up. I brushed my teeth and got dressed. Since it was our last day at cardigan, most of us packed all our stuff and loaded it onto the truck. Breakfast started at 8:00, so I made my way downstairs following the others. Once again, after breakfast, I changed into my hiking gear, met up with my group, and talked about the plan. When it was time, we left and started with the compass course. The compass course was using a compass and clues to find our way to our destination. Throughout the course we drew multiple sketches of every clue we arrived at. When that was completed we did the nature trail. The nature trail was a small short hike where we learned about many different plants and wildlife, including indian cucumber sprouts, the creeping snowberry, the hobble bush, and hemlock trees. It was very interesting to discover how many things were edible in the area. Afterwards we went back to the lodge and ate lunch for the last time outside. My group talked about everything we did, and wrapped it up. Then finally, after saying our last goodbyes to all the employees at the lodge, we left.
Human environment Interaction is a theme of geography. Humans change the environment and the environment changes humans, both positively and negatively. An example is man made lakes. We might have made it, but an ecosystem living inside is not made by us. Also, the fire tower made at the summit of cardigan is an example of Human environment interaction.
