My First Hiking Trip at Cardigan Mountain!

At the Cardigan field trip me, Ella, and Gemma found the Welton Falls cross the river foundation, and a cellar hole made out of an old rocks! Then after a couple miles, we sat on a rock and ate lunch. Our group stopped most of the trail to play some games (tag, hide n seek, etc.) By then, we went to a beautiful area where there’s a gorgeous river view and a nice mountain view as well. We stopped to draw and sketch the beautiful area. After that, we continued our trail. It was so much work! Running up hills, and going back down. My legs were in pain!. Then after the painful part, we returned back to the lodge to take a break. During the break, we played a little game, had some more lunch, and sketched some more things around us. Eventually, we had to return to the hiking. Most of us found some cool looking trees and plants! Such as the giant hemlock tree, an evergreen branch, a red maple tree, and last but not least, a Birch tree, and an Eastern Hemlock! (also known as the “Tsuga Canadenis”) We took another minute to relax. To breathe in the forest air. It started to get dark, and so we headed back. Me, my good friend Ella, and everyone else in our group entered the lodge once more, and sat down to chit chat for a bit and then some of us started to head home, but mostly everyone else stayed, but unfortunately I had to leave. It was an interesting day, I’ve never hiked before, and this was actually more fun than I expected! I’m still looking forward to more of these kinds of field trips soon.
