Day One at Cardigan:Region
Today I was going to Cardigan Mountain on a field trip, for three days. My adventure started when I got to school and loaded all of my gear into the trailer. Then, we all got onto the bus, and left for Cardigan Mountain. The bus was a lot of fun. We sang a bunch of songs, and it got really loud. When we arrived at Cardigan about an hour later, we all went to a nearby field and played some games. We played mountain baseball, which is not anything like baseball, and some name games. We ended up going to this field a lot throughout the trip. After playing some games, we all went inside and ate lunch. We also filled out a form about what we thought the experience was going to be like, and got separated into our hiking groups to begin our hike. The hike was about two hours long, and we went to Welton Falls. We played a fun game with a clothespin. We also got to see a cool spot that had been eroded. It had been an exhausting day when we got back to the AMC lodge. Before we got to have free time, we went on a short nature trail. On the trail, Mr Woolner told us a story about some of the trees we saw. We also did a lot of sketching. Dinner was spaghetti and meatballs. We got to eat salad as well. After dinner, two of the workers performed a little skit, and then brought out brownies. While Mr. Woolner explained the evening activities, I got packed up, and got into my car to go home.
Day one reminded me of the theme regions. This is because we traveled from the Hopkinton region, to the Cardigan Mountain region. We also drove through a lot of different regions to get to the Cardigan Mountain region. Another example of regions, is when we were hiking we hiked through the forest regions. The three forest regions are Alpine, hardwood, and boriel. Alpine being the top, hardwood being the middle, and boriel being the bottom region.
