Day Three at Cardigan:Human Environment Interactions
Day three was the last day at Cardigan, and started with freetime. During freetime I hung out in the common area, and drank hot chocolate. Then we had breakfast which was french toast casserole, eggs and bacon. Once we finished breakfast, we all got dressed and ready for the day, and then met up with our hiking groups. In my hiking groups spot, we played the game two truths and a lie. After we played two truths and a lie, we set off on our hike. Today we were doing the compass course. We first learned how to use the compass, and then we read cards that told us where to go. On the compass course, we saw a lot of cool things including an old ski hill, an old car and an old stone wall. We also saw different trees, and other sights in nature. Once we finished the compass course, we played the game Camouflage, and then went to the pond and ate lunch. The AMC lodge was a short distance from the pond, so it took us no more than five minutes. We talked with our groups outside because we could not go back inside. We then said goodbye to the hiking instructors and got on the bus to go back to school. Just like that, our long journey at Cardigan was over.
Day 3 reminded me of Human Environment Interactions because my hiking group went on the compass course. On the compass course we saw lots of stone walls, and trees that had been cut down. Humans cut trees down, and built stone walls, affecting the environment. It was also cold that day, which caused us to wear warm clothes.
