We went on a trip to Odiorne Point to go tidepooling and explore the ocean and sea creatures. After we explored the area, we got ice cream.

The black zone is the highest intertidal zone at Odiorne Point. It is an intertidal zone full of rocks covered in cyanobacteria. Cyanobacteria is a black coat of living things that cover the rocks which make them their black color.

The red zone is the lowest intertidal zone at Odiorne Point. It is covered in rocks and seaweed since it is most often in the water compared to the rest of the intertidal zones. This zone also contains the drowned forest, which is many different tree roots that are only visible at low tide.

WHERE is the most variety, and WHY do you think this is? I think the red zone had the most variety because it had many different types of seaweed as well as the drowned forest just in that one intertidal zone.
