On day one, by the time we got to Cardigan, it was almost lunch. We unpacked everything and decided to go on a compass course walk. On the compass course, I realized that the trail we were walking on has at one point changed the environment in some way. For example, trees had to be cleared for the trail to be made. So about halfway through the compass course, we stopped and eat lunch. Lunch was on a rock, and while everyone ate their food, me and my friend marked waypoints with the GPS devices. Once everyone was finished with their lunch, we had to complete the compass course walk. Along the trail, there were stone walls and over time the wall was changing the animal habitat. As we kept walking along the compass course we were reading the GPS device and finding the latitude and longitude of different points on the course walk. Finally, we stopped and looked at trees and draw them in our sketchbooks. Also, I drew the stone wall and was looking at how it changed the environment of the forest. The stone wall is so big and long that it takes up a lot of space, and with that, the forest has had to adapt to it. When we got back to the AMC Lodge it was time to have dinner, the dinner was spaghetti and meatballs. At dinner, I talked with my friends about the day and how the stone wall and other things were changing the environment. After dinner, we played games and chatted with friends. At that point, it was time for bed, so we headed upstairs to settle in for the night.
