Cardigan is located West of the AMC lodge located near the base of the mountain, and North-northwest of the town Contoocook New Hampshire. It is about an hour and a half drive from the Hopkinton Middle High School. It is located near the town Orange, and the top of the mountain had a huge firetower to spot forest fires. It is 3,00 feet in the air, and is attached to the mountain Firescrew through a 'saddle'.
The summit of Mt. Cardigan is located at exactly N 43 degrees, 38 minutes,59.29 seconds, W 71 degrees, 54 minutes, 53.19 seconds. The elevation is 3126 feet. On top of Firescrew, there is a rare alpine bog, which is located at N 43 degrees,39 minutes, 20.07 seconds, W 71 degrees,54 minutes, 28.29 seconds. The elevation is 2993 ft.

 Physical Geography!:
An example of physical geography! At Cardigan, we saw pincushion moss, princess pines, creeping snowberries, and others. We also saw a glacial erratic, along with many streams and rivers. On the summit of Cardigan, we saw glacial striations, which are scratches and dents made by a glacier many many years ago.
 Cultural Geography!:
Some examples of cultural geography we saw at Cardigan are the many hiking trails in the area that wrap around the AMC lodge. At the summit of Cadigan, there was a huge firetower, which is used for spotting wildfires before they spread too far. There were also names of people carved into the rock at the summit, with years dating back to the 1800s, probably to leave a mark in history, telling everybody who reached the summit that they too have made it.
