Region on Day 3

On day three we started it off with sleeping through the first knock on our door by the teacher. That morning's breakfast was French toast, bacon, sausage and fruit. One we got in to our hiking groups we played a couple games of a version of red light green light. Then we began our first way point which we had to make a path into the woods to get to the side of the pond we needed. Once we finished our waypoint we started an activity called “Mystery of the Trees.” at the end of the mystery of the trees scavenger hunt we ended up at an old rope tow and rusted buggy. Once we got back down to the picnic table we had lunch and some people in our group had an argument on if honey bees should be here or not. After lunch was done we did a pond study and I caught a salamander. Towards the last part of the days we went a little bit up the nature trail and played find your tree with blindfolds. Your partner was blindfolded and you led them to a tree and then took them away and then they had to find it again. Right after that we did a waypoint on an Indian cucumber and we ate some. Then we set off on an independent hike on the rest of the nature trail. We said goodbye to Gretchen and got on the bus to head home. That day we modeled the geography theme region. We stayed in new England but we left the region of Merrimack and moved to Grafton for three days then came back into the Merrimack region. The AMC lodge is in the Newfound lake region or the lakes region. Also the summits of Mount Cardigan and Fire screw are located in the Appalachian mountain range and region so is the lodge.
