These are my PLACE paragraphs:
Cultural Geography -
On our way up the mountain we saw a lot of old stone walls outlining a barrier that almost looked like a house that used to be there. When we got to the top of the mountain there were a lot of Cairns. On dictionary.com it says that the definition of “Cairns” is; “a mound of rough stones built as a memorial or landmark, typically on a hilltop of skyline.” We also saw a lot of people who carved stuff out of the rocks on the top of the mountain. They also left little pictures of themselves on the top that was hanged by trees. Sort of like little ornaments. There is also little painted marks on the trees that helps people now where the trail is so people do not keep on getting lost. In 1855 there were a lot of wolves on the mountain, so people set the top of the mountain on fire to get the wolves killed or to get them off of the mountain. The trees that were there got burned down and not many grew back.Physical Geography -
On Cardigan Mountain there is this little stream that looks like it could be in a fairy tale. There is this little patch of moss that goes all the way around the stream and when the stream stops, the strip of moss goes all the way around the end of the stream and then goes back around again. It is so peaceful. There is also this big rock right in the middle of the trail that we think is from a earthquake on one of the mountains next to Cardigan. It is this big rock that is all granite and it does not look like the rocks we see that are from Cardigan Mountain. It looks like something even bigger! I hope you learned a lot in my Physical Geography PLACE paragraph!
When we went to Cardigan Mountain for 3 days. We stayed at AMC Cardigan Lodge. I was in Session 2 which was from October 2nd, October 3rd, and October 4th! That was Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday!
I hope you learned a lot from my Cardigan Web Page!
