Location- Have you ever had the wonderful experience of reaching the summit of Cardigan? Well, I will explain the location and state the coordinates of Cardigan Mountain. First of all, Cardigan is in Alexandria, New Hampshire. Cardigan Mountain has a latitude of 43.651738 degrees and a longitude of -71.914694 degrees. It has an elevation of 2797 feet. For relative location, Cardigan MT. is located East of Orange. Also, Cardigan MT. is South of Dorchester. Not only that but, it is West of Belle Island. One more piece of Relative Location would be that Cardigan is North of Grafton. That is the location of Cardigan Mountain.

Place(Physical 1st paragraph and then Cultural)- Cardigan mountain is a very fascinating and special place. At the summit, it is most definitely a breath-taking view. Something special about Cardigan Mountain is that it has a bare rock summitt. Not only is their bare rock at the summit, but there is definitely some bare rock leading up to the summitt, as well. Also, the summit of Cardigan is special because it is a large and flat surface. Another interesting fact about Mount Cardigan is that it has many different types of forests going up the mountain. For an example, their was Deciduous Forest and Coniferous forest. In some spots, it felt an looked like it was a light shade of forest, and in other spots it felt totally dark. In summary of that, the way up to the Cardigan Summitt had many uniques types of trees. Another fascinating thing about Cardigan is that their is something called, "The Saddle." The job of this feature is to connect Firescrew and Cardigan. It is fascinating that Firescrew is visible from Cardigan Mountain and vise-versa! Using Physical Geography, those are just some of the many reasons why Cardigan Mountain is special and different.

Cultural Geography about Mount Cardigan follows. Something to look froward to while climbing the mountain, was that there was a firetower on the summit. This firetower is an easy way for people to spot fires and get a good look at the view. My classmates and I, had the opportunity to climb up some of the ladder leading up to the tower, but we were not able to go in it. On the top of Cardigan mountain, their is a great place for people to have a break, catch your breath, and eat some lunch. Infact, that is what my hiking group did. This is because it is a large, flat, and rocky surface. Another special and interesting fact about Cardigan Mountain is that people can go right from the summit of Cardigan over to Firescrew, and then continue on down the mountain from their. Or, people could hike from Firescrew, up to Cardigan and then, you could go down from there. So, it's kind of like a 2 in 1, which is unique and amazing. My group and I were lucky and got to go up to Cardigan, over to Firescrew, and then down the mountain from there. It was very funny because my group and I were over at Firescrew, and there was another group at Cardigan, so we were waving at each other because we were able see other people! That is not even close to everything that involves Cultural Geography for Cardigan. However, I hope you get the point that, Cardigan is a unique and special place!!

Time there- We were there for 3 days and 2 nights. We went on at least 1 hike each day. We were there Tuesday, Wendsday, and Thursday. On the first day we hiked to Welton Falls. Then, my group also went on a night hike to a campsite which was so much fun! On the second day our full day there, we did the big hike up to Cardigan and Firescrew which was an absoloute blast. On the third day we did a tree scavenger hunt around the woods which was fun. After that, we had lunch at a stream before heading home.
