WHERE is cardigan

Relative location Mount Cardigan is north west of Hopkinton and 35 miles away. Cardigan is also 14 miles from Plymouth and 7 miles from Newfound Lake. Concord is south east of Cardigan and 38.5 miles away.

Description of Cardigan PLACE - really really really good description of Cardigan

Physical stuff The forest has a lot of trees running through them with the terrain changing as you increase altitude. I found that there was a very large patch of moss near the false summit and lumbering over the moss was a lot of either spruce or fern trees. But near the bottom there is an abundance of birch, yellow birch, cucumber root and hobble bush leaves.

Cultural stuff Cardigan is like a mountain that has an option of trails that intertwine around the Cardigan mountain and the neighboring mountain Fire Screw. The trails have roots elapsed all over them with the occasional rough patch of bare rock. The AMC lodge is a big old house riddled with windows, doors and the helpful guides who work there. The lodge also has a store to buy tools, equipment, and little trinkets to help with the hike or to remember that you went there.

We were there for three days, Wednesday , Thursday , Friday.
