Cardigan Mountain Lodge is located north from Hopkinton, NH. It is located 10 miles west of Newfound lake. Cardigan summit is located 2.5 miles from the center of Orange, NH. In comparison to Bristol, Cardigan is located southeast and 10 miles away. Crystal lake is located south west and 10 miles from Cardigan Mountain Lodge.

Cardigan Mountain has a bare rock summit and a view that stretches on for miles. The canopy was mostly made up of evergreen trees as the elevation rose higher. The waterfall at Welton Falls was beautiful and the rocks looked like they had been worn away from water constantly pounding on them. Cardigan Mountain, although not a 4,000 footer, was a moderately sized mountain. As you hiked to the summit of Cardigan besides evergreen trees most if not all of the trees had turned red, orange, or yellow for the fall.
The AMC lodge was three stories tall and was painted white. The firepits and tent platforms near the compass course/old ski lift area is also an example of cultural geography! The firetower and the high cabin are other examples of cultural geography! The hiking trails and water bars are human made/kept and are examples of cultural geography! Finally the picnic area tables are examples of cultural geography!
We were at Cardigan Mountain for three days, Wednesday, Thursday,and Friday.
